"MEWA" was founded in 2001 by three security professionals, who saw the need for a security monitoring service that delivered exceptional quality and value. They were aware that other local large monitoring companies were owned by multi-nationals, some of whom were planning to relocate their operations to Eastern States. They were also acutely aware that the general standard of monitoring had diminished in recent times as monitoring stations became so large and remote that meticulous attention to alarm-response became a thing of the past.

By the use of state-of-the-art monitoring technology, innovative and professional quality control procedures, vigorous attention to detail and the customers' needs, MEWA has become the leader in customer service and security monitoring from the great State of Western Australia.

The company philosophy is simple: Monitor alarm systems with the highest possible attention to detail. We do not sell or install alarm systems, believing that our "alliance partners" do that best. However, when we do receive requests for alarm system installation, we refer these to our alliance partners to follow up, because we know the monitoring will come to us.

MEWA can monitor almost every alarm system ever installed in Australia. It is also actively involved in researching new technologies to transmit and receive alarm signals without having to rely on telephone services, which are both costly to use and subject to interference by the determined criminal.

Our WA customers come from as far afield as Wyndham in the North, Esperance in the South and Kalgoorlie in the East. We also monitor customers throughout Australia, the time difference between WA and the Eastern States being of benefit to clients. (Alarms, openings and closings etc are monitored when we have our lightest workload in WA.) MEWA's rapid growth since inception is proof that we are doing things RIGHT, without losing the focus on quality.

We are an independent, locally-owned company, free from any partisan ownership or influences.

The control room is located in the southern Perth suburb of Bibra Lake, has been built to the exacting relevant Australian Standard 2201, and has been graded by ASIAL and therefore approved by the Police for response. It was the first control room in Australia to be successfully graded under the new Standard which came into effect in mid 2001. All systems in the control room have full redundancy, with hot-swap servers, spare receivers, uninterrupted power supply (UPS) and emergency generator all located on site, so that continuous 24 hour operation can be guaranteed, 365 days of the year.

We employ the most qualified and experienced staff in Western Australia, who ensure that alarms are actioned exactly as required by the site owner, quickly, quietly and efficiently.

MEWA has invested in the latest alarm receiver equipment available and uses ADSW software to interpret incoming signals and maintain the client database. It can monitor signals received via conventional telephone lines, as well as GSM units and the emerging VHF radio devices. We also monitor CCTV systems and pictures received from client's premises on the Internet or by email. We do NOT offer Securitel monitoring, believing it to be relatively obsolete technology.

MEWA works closely with its alliance partners to ensure we are always meeting their needs, whether through technological innovation, the most competitive pricing, or being able to commission systems at any time of the day or night.

We will continue to:

  • Offer five-star monitoring quality.
  • Provide individual attention to all of our customers.
  • Keep our prices the most competitive in the industry so that clients enjoy value for their money.
  • Remain firmly based in WA.
  • Set the benchmark in equipment and performance standards.
