POLICE RESPONSE TO DURESS/PANIC ACTIVATIONS: Announcement Further Information Device Requirement Code
New Technology:
Monitoring Excellence is an established monitoring centre for various new "wireless" alarm communicators, with a number of communication path options. A range of options is available, from a single radio transmitter to replace the use of conventional phone lines up to a four-path (GPRS1, GPRS2, GSM and PSTN), 90 second polled unit.
We are also investigating various cost effective possibilities of monitoring systems using ADSL/internet communications, combined with GPRS/GSM back-up communications paths.
The important features of all of these systems is that they no longer rely on phone lines (which can be cut or damaged) to communicate with our control room, and they are "fixed price", meaning they can communicate with us as often as required, and there should be no additional phone call costs.
Here are some details:
- Direct Wireless offer a number of security communicators which also cover over 95% of the Australian population with a number of fixed-price monitoring options, depending on the number of paths chosen and the frequency of polling. Also using a combination of GPRS1/GPRS2/GSM and PSTN pathways communicating with the control room via a secure network, these units offer unparalled levels of security reporting. - The Secure-Com system can be configured to transmit alarm panel signals using up to five pathways (GPRS1/GPRS2/GSM/Radio/PSTN) and covers over 95% of the population of Australia. This unit "polls" the control room at up to 90 second intervals via a secure network, and an alarm is generated in the control room if the unit ceases to poll correctly. This is an ideal unit for high security applications or locations where a conventional phone line is not available. Brochure
- The RadioNet Monitoring transmitter unit can be used by itself, without the need for a phone line. It can transmit test signals as often as the host security system can generate test signals (usually hourly). Its coverage is limited to the Perth metropolitan area as well as Mandurah, Bunbury and other parts of the south west. RadioNet can also be used as a backup to conventional phone line monitoring. If the phone line is cut, it will revert to radio communications. The transmitter by itself is ideal for domestic alarm systems, and when combined with PSTN line is suitable for commercial premises requiring a back-up path in case the phone line is cut or damaged.
